Consulting: business

A conversation about terms for which you are better prepared than the other side.

Contracts, suppliers, customers, commercial leases, price increases, disputes with a client, terms of cooperation. I analyse the case and the other side, and you get a script for the conversation and answers to the moves that will come. I consult in English and Polish, in Poland and abroad.

I reply within 24 hours. A non-disclosure agreement whenever you wish; in business cases I propose it myself.

Who it is for

When one conversation sets the result for the whole year

The material is always your specific case and your specific other side, never an example from a book.

How we work

Two sessions, one script, zero improvisation

Strategy

after you fill in the case form
  • Your goal, your limits and the moment you walk away from the table
  • Who the other side is, what drives them and who really decides
  • Your leverage, their leverage and what you can trade instead of giving away
  • The order of moves, because the order is a lever in its own right

Script and rehearsal

before the conversation
  • A line-by-line script: what you say, what you hear, what you answer
  • A library of the other side's moves: demanding to speak to the decision-maker, raising the demand, another supplier waiting in the wings
  • A rehearsal out loud, so that the hard words are not spoken for the first time at the table
  • A plan for a deadlock, and for the moment the conversation moves faster than you expected

Debrief and further rounds

until the case is closed
  • A debrief after the conversation: what worked and where money was left on the table
  • The script corrected for the next round
  • The agreed terms closed in writing

One-to-one preparation is quoted individually for each case: describe your situation and ask for a quote. If I am to lead the conversations myself, that is negotiation on your behalf. Buying or selling real estate? This way.

“Despite my very limited experience, Paweł guided me very well through the negotiation process. The talks were very difficult, yet I handled them remarkably well.”

Business: cases and numbers

Operating costs

Renegotiating costs in a large company

A list of every cost coming up for renewal within the year, a selection of the items with the greatest potential, and renegotiations run so as not to damage the relationships with suppliers.

EUR 25,000 saved in four months. Anonymous case.
Suppliers

A small client versus global suppliers

A business owner compiled his own purchasing history with each supplier, received a map of their concerns, the question about the decision-maker, and a frame for a conversation about consolidating the supplier base instead of a request for a discount.

A series of conversations with twenty-one suppliers, most of them ending in better terms. Anonymous case.
Dominant supplier

A hundred million a year and a deadlock

The buyer was fully stocked, switching the source of supply was unrealistic, and the arguments were falling on deaf ears. Reframing it as a shared problem, with the picture of a growing pie instead of dividing up the same one.

The supplier started listening and the conversation moved out of the deadlock.
Company crisis · 2004

The importer leaves the market, the showroom is left empty

The year 2004, a family business with no stock and no advertising support from the importer. A proposal everyone considered unrealistic: weekly wholesale deliveries without tying up its own capital or taking out a loan.

Deliveries started, the company built its own network of sub-dealers and reached one of the highest market shares in the country.
Market entry · 2025

An entrepreneur from China opens a branch in Poland

A new entity on the Polish market, with no local track record, had to start from scratch: find manufacturers, reach the people on their side who actually decide the terms, and structure the first conversation so as not to be handed the price list meant for a walk-in customer.

Cooperation established with manufacturers and starting terms negotiated for the new branch. Anonymous case.
Dispute with a client · 2026

A meeting with the whole relationship at stake

Two preparation sessions: a script for the conversation, a library of the other side's moves and the decision on when to put a proposal to extend the cooperation on the table.

The client: “practically nothing came up that we had not already worked through in the script”. The meeting was won, with two further projects now under discussion. Anonymous case.

Cases covered by confidentiality are presented without names, company names or industries. The numbers are real.

Who will prepare you

Paweł Gołembiewski

I have negotiated on behalf of clients since 2002: contracts, terms with suppliers, leases, cost renegotiations. Author of eight books on negotiation, in which I dissect price negotiation and the strategic analysis of the other side. Coach of the Polish national negotiation team.

I work on your specific case and your specific other side, not on examples from a book. The script you get has to work on Tuesday at ten o'clock.

Questions

Before you write

I am negotiating with a supplier who is stronger than me. Can anything be done?

It can, only not by asking for a discount. We start by working out how much you are worth to them, by mapping their concerns and by finding out who on their side actually decides the terms. Only then do we structure the conversation.

Do you work on my real cases or on examples?

Only on yours. The material is the specific conversation you have in your calendar and the specific other side.

Do you join me at the meeting?

In one-to-one preparation, you do the talking. Being at the table or leading the conversation for you is negotiation on your behalf, a separate service.

I have to raise my prices and I am afraid my customers will leave.

This is one of the most common cases companies come with. We work on the order of moves, on the justification and on a script for the customers who will push back hardest.

Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Yes. In business cases I propose it myself.

How long does it take?

A single case usually takes two sessions plus materials. In a longer process, for example a series of conversations with suppliers, we work in rounds until the case is closed.

Is there a conversation in your calendar that will set the result for a year?

Tell me who you are talking to, what is at stake and what has already been said. I will reply with where I see the leverage and how I would structure the conversation.

Describe your situation
